Scholarship Application

Please review the eligibility criteria before filling out and submitting your application.

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must plan to attend a college in Rock County, WI in pursuit of earning a degree or certification in one of the following fields:

  • Firefighting

  • EMT

  • Law Enforcement

  • Nursing 

2024 will be our first year offering this scholarship and we will award a total of $500 with each recipient receiving between $100 and $500 for the fall semester. The application deadline this year is June 31st. Awards will be mailed directly to the school, or to the student directed as tuition payment to the school.

Each applicant must:

  • Be accepted into Blackhawk Technical College or a college within Rock County, WI.

  • Email a 500 to 1000 word essay on your reasons for pursuing an education in one of the related fields along with what your career plans are to: essay@tyworden.com.

  • Complete and submit the application form below.

  • April 15th: Application Opens

  • September 30th: Application Closes

  • October 1st - 15th: Application Review

  • October 16th - 31st: Scholarship Award Notifications and Distributions

Timeline:

  • January 1st: Application Opens

  • March 31st: Application Closes

  • April - May: Application Review

  • June: Scholarship Award Notifications

  • July - August: Scholarship Claiming and Payments

  • August 31st: Deadline to Claim Scholarship
